Portable homelab experiments

Testing practical low-cost machines for Linux, self-hosting, file services, remote access, and AI workflows that rely on APIs.

A lot of useful self-hosting does not require a rack or a monster workstation. This line of experimentation is about finding the smallest machine that can still be genuinely useful: Linux desktop tasks, light infrastructure, remote access, storage, and AI-adjacent workflows that use APIs or modest local models rather than pretending small hardware should run giant models well.

This project is a longer work in progress, and the learning curve for me is much steeper as it has a hardware element to it, and there's a larger associated cost. So, more details will follow when I'm fully up and running.
